You use therapy when you feel stuck, unable to move forward in your personal life, at work, or in everything you do.
In therapy, the focus is on you and your life.
You use person-centred coaching when you want to gain a better understanding of why things are not running smoothly at work.
In technical terms, dynamics means “energy in motion”, which manifests itself as “power”. It concerns the interplay of self-image, desires and emotions.
When these are in harmony, you feel energetic and balanced. When they are in disharmony, you feel tired and depressed due to the inner struggle. Usually, you are not aware of the cause of the changes and wonder why your feelings can change so suddenly. By deepening your self-insight and awareness, you gain insight into your own psychodynamic processes and together we can achieve lasting personal development and improvement.
To share what is going on, it is important to feel safe. When you feel safe, issues that bother you come to light. We do this together. The aim is for you to be able to share what is going on inside you and develop in the direction that suits you. The way we do this depends on what comes up. We pay attention to what you experience in your body, what you feel and how you think.
The therapy can be on an individual level, but also with your partner in the form of couples therapy.
In systemic therapy, we visualise your family and the family you belong to (physically). Seeing this allows you to recognise any bottlenecks and patterns or gain insight. This makes it possible to acknowledge what is going on and offers space.
This method is also used in organisations, for example to investigate why there are stagnations in the development of an organisation or why certain conflicts keep recurring. In this context, we do not refer to a family constellation but to an organisational constellation.
EMDR is a specific form of therapy used to process traumatic experiences. The acronym stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing. EMDR treatment reduces the emotional impact of traumatic memories. You do not forget what happened, but the emotions you feel become less intense. This can help if you have (long-term) symptoms.
Couples therapy is a form of therapy that focuses on reducing conflicts and communication problems within a relationship. It concerns how partners understand and respond to each other. Sometimes additional individual therapy is necessary, because individual blockages inhibit the healthy development of the relationship.
As a therapist, I am affiliated with a professional association and registered with an umbrella foundation:
The Association for the Promotion of Alternative Medicine (VBAG) was established in 1984 with the aim of improving the oversight and advancement of complementary medicine in the Netherlands. This was initially achieved by admitting only those therapists who had completed a VBAG-accredited training programme. Over the years, additional requirements have been introduced, both by the association itself and by health insurers. As a result, we are now the largest professional association for complementary medicine in the Netherlands.
The RBCZ Foundation is an umbrella organisation that certifies and registers practitioners of complementary and alternative medicine (including doctors and therapists educated to higher professional standards). RBCZ represents the general interests of its affiliated practitioners and serves as an independent intermediary between professional organisations, health insurers, and clients.
I am also affiliated with the Dutch Association of EMDR Therapists.
